What are essential oils?

- They are all around us. They are natural, concentrated, aromatic liquids that are extracted from flowers, shrubs, bushes, seeds, trees and roots that have the power to have the power to promote physical wellness, purify your home, enhance your skin and uplift your spirits.

"Each essential oil’s complex, pleasant, and unique scent activates the limbic system—the brain’s center of emotion and memory—differently. While some essential oils may uplift the spirits, others may empower you to release negative thoughts and habits. Essential oils can be your key to a more fulfilling and balanced emotional life." How long have essential oils been around?

Essential oils were mankind’s first medicine. Chinese manuscripts and Egyptian hieroglyphics have shown that essential oils were used for thousands of years. In the bible there are 188 references to essential oils. Young Living has been in business since 1993 and is still ran today by the founder, Gary Young.

How do you use essential oils?

- Essential oils can be used by applying them to the skin (topical application), by smelling them (inhalation) or taking them internally (internal consumption). Each essential oil is labeled to show the different types of uses. If you are ever unsure, please contact me, consult the YL User Guide or Google it!

What kind of oils are there?

-Man O man! There are lots and lots of different kinds of oils. All of which are all natural and come straight from what God gave us. There are essential oil singles and essential oil blends. The singles are those that are purely from one source. An example would be Lavender. It comes straight from the lavender plant (shown to the left). A blend oil is two or more sources together that make up that oil. An example of a blend oil would be Valor because it is a mixture of Spruce, rosewood, blue tansy and frankincense in a base of coconut oil.

Are Young Living Essential Oils Safe to use on Pets?

- Yes, SOME (not all) YL Essential Oils are safe to use on pets. Here is what YL says about using essential oils on pets:

"When using Young Living products on your pets, remember size and physiology make them more sensitive to the effects of essential oils. Here is why: Most pets have a greater sense of smell. Cats and small dogs have a low body weight. Cats have thinner skin that allows essential oils to be easily and quickly absorbed in their bloodstream. Cats’ livers do not function like humans or dogs. Bottom-line: less is better for a cat." (Source: YL Blog)
